Established in April 2019, the Annunciation Lutheran Mission is a congregation of Confessional Lutherans in Singapore gathering together weekly in a private residence on Sunday mornings. We stand on the faithful confession of God’s Word, and confess the faithful exposition of Scripture as found in the Book of Concord (1580). We are committed to upholding the Lutheran faith in both doctrine and practice.
Jonathan serves as our resident Küster and main contact for our Lutheran mission in Singapore. Following historic Lutheran practice from Germany, our Küster prepares for services and manages our mission’s practical arrangements.
Rev. Filmore Alvarez, pastor of the Church of the Augustana in Southeast Asia, visits our Singapore Lutheran mission annually to celebrate the Divine Service.
At Annunciation Lutheran Mission, we follow the historic liturgy of the Common Service. Our Divine Service centers on Word and Sacrament, where Christ comes to His people through these means of grace.
We observe Closed Communion in keeping with biblical teaching and historic Lutheran practice.
First-time visitors: We welcome you to observe our service, even if some elements may be unfamiliar. Our Küster is happy to answer any questions you may have about our worship practices.
If you’re searching for confessional Lutheran worship in Singapore:
We are Lutheran—without apologies or excuses. We maintain the faithful exposition of Holy Scripture found in the Lutheran Confessions.
In Singapore, as throughout ELDoNA-affiliated congregations, we maintain historic Lutheran liturgical practice, maintain the proper distinction between Law and Gospel, and subscribe unconditionally to the Lutheran Confessions. We use The Lutheran Hymnal, observe closed communion, and uphold all teachings of the Book of Concord.
Our mission gathers in a private setting in Singapore. To receive information about attending our services, please complete the contact form below. Our Küster will respond with details about our next gathering times and location.
Following historic Lutheran practice, we observe Closed Communion, which means that only communicant members of our congregation or of other congregations that have declared their oneness of faith with us are invited to commune at the Lord’s Table. Catechetical classes are offered so that those who are interested in joining our Communion fellowship have the opportunity to learn about the Christian faith and our confession of it.
